Laser Dentistry
At
Carbondale Family Dental, we’re very familiar with what triggers
nervousness and anxiety in our patients, which is why we’ve invested in
advanced technologies such as the Solea
Laser. We are proud to be the first dental
practice
in western Colorado to invest in this cutting edge technology.
The
use of lasers in dental work makes for comfortable dentistry. In fact,
it often alleviates the need for anesthesia because it takes the place
of incisions, drilling, and other painful techniques. Over 95% of
dental fillings completed with Solea lasers are performed without
anesthetics.
What is the
Solea Laser?
The Solea laser is one great example of how technology is
changing the face of modern dentistry for the better. The
Solea laser is used for a number of procedures, for which the drill
might have been the only option.
Lasers have been in use in dentistry since the early 1990s. Lasers can
eliminate the unpleasant sounds, vibrations, lengthy healing times, and
the pain associated with the drill.
We can use the Solea Laser to perform virtually
pain-and-discomfort-free procedures, such as:
- Cavity
Fillings: Usually eliminates the need for local anesthetic (no more
needles),
as well as the sound and other unpleasant sensations associated with
getting your tooth drilled and filled.
- Gum
Reshaping: Cosmetically enhances the appearance of teeth that have
gums that are overly pronounced.
- Frenectomies:
Corrects lip and
tougue tie in infants, children and adults.
When
used on soft tissue, the Solea Laser cauterizes the treatment
site, thereby stimulating accelerated recovery while reducing the risk
of post-treatment infection and discomfort. Additionally, the precision
and speed of our dental laser ensures that only targeted areas are
affected, eliminating the risk of damage to surrounding tissue. |
